    As one of the oldest trade associations in the United States, the mission of the Plumbing Contractors Association of Greater Chicago includes representing our members in Labor Relations and Legislation, assisting our members with education and safety training, and supporting an apprenticeship system that provides for the effective training of apprentices.

  • PCA Consumer Lead Brochure

    The PCA and the Illinois PHCC have collaborated to develop a new brochure on lead safety in drinking water. It explains what consumers can do to reduce their exposure to lead in their home; offers advice on hiring licensed plumbing contractors to test the lead in water systems; provides helpful industry website links; and includes a consumer acknowledgement and release form for our contractors to keep for their own records. PCA-Local 130 CBA (2020-2024) Ratified

The new PCA-UA Local 130 four-year CBA (2020-2024) was ratified by our Association contractor member firms (one vote per company) who participated in a special online ratification vote that concluded on June 29, 2020, and by the UA Local 130 membership on the evening of June 30, 2020. The new CBA will cover all PCA contractors operating in the Plumbers Local 130 UA jurisdiction. A special thank you goes out to our dedicated labor relations team consisting of PCA President Matt Erickson, Plumbing Council Chairman Mike Kerrigan, and PCA Director David Ariano for all of the countless volunteer hours and hard work they put into successfully reaching this agreement.


Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Senate Bill 75, Public Act 101-0221 was signed into law by Governor Pritzker in August 2019. Under this Act, Illinois employers are required to train employees on sexual harassment prevention by December 31, 2020, and on an annual basis thereafter.

IDPH Plumbing License Renewals Extended Due to COVID-19

The PCA has been informed by IDPH Plumbing and Water Quality Program Manager Brian Cox that in response to Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamations and Executive Orders related to COVID-19, one of the emergency rules extends the deadline for plumbers’ license renewals, apprentice plumbers’ license renewal, and plumbing inspectors’ certificate renewals 150 days to August 28, 2020.
